I’m always interested to find game-related things localized for the Taiwanese market. Taiwan is so often overlooked when it comes to localization. Usually the Japanese version of a game will be released with just a localized cover, or a game will have Chinese subtitles and retain the English soundtrack. Very rarely is something fully localized like it seems the Pokemon card game was.
When I taught English here I remember my students playing Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I don’t remember much talk of Pokemon. That’s probably changed now with the recent popularity of Pokemon Go and the 3DS games, but these instructions are dated 1999/2000 so are from the original release of the game in Taiwan.
I also posted these scans to ChineseHacks where I translated some of the Chinese.
